Biography

Ana Carolina de Paula Silva is a 2nd-year Ph.D. student of Political Science at Tulane. She earned both an undergrad in Law and a Master of Science in Criminal Law at the University of São Paulo, in Brazil. After working for 6 years as a Law Clerk to a Criminal Judge at São Paulo State Courthouse, she decided to shift her career focus toward public policy.

She is interested in Human Rights, Criminal Justice, and the studies of Race and Inequality. She is currently working on a project about educational attainment in Sub-Saharan African countries and continues to contribute to the discussion about drug policy reform in Brazil, through articles and other publications.
